Contact Lens Solution: Multi-Purpose vs Lens Case Only

Quick answer

A multi-purpose contact lens solution with a lens case offers complete care—cleaning, disinfecting, and safe storage. A lens case alone only holds lenses; it does not clean or disinfect them.

Trade-offs at a glance

• Multi-purpose solution + case: Provides cleaning, disinfecting, and storage in one. Best for daily wearers who need a complete routine. Always use fresh solution each time; never top off old solution.
• Lens case only: Holds lenses but does not clean them. Suitable only if you already have a separate solution and just need a replacement case. Replace your lens case every three months to prevent buildup.
• Cost per use: Both Mesmereyez products are priced at USD 1.80, a savings from the USD 2.95 comparison price. The solution with case gives you both for the same price. You get the cleaning power and a case without extra cost.
